Evidence has a scope
Verified means that a particular statement is supported by a reviewed source, with a date and a direct reference. For an operator-authored rule, it means we checked the published rule. It does not mean we opened an account, tested the service or independently certified the operator. The source type and the wording must travel together.
Consider two published controls: PokerStars’ casino-category restrictions and Sky’s deposit controls. Both have documentary evidence. They do different things and cannot be reduced to identical ticks without losing useful information. A verified statement must preserve that difference.
Unknown is different from not checked
Unknown means the conclusion has not been established. Country eligibility is unknown across our launch directory. Not checked means this review did not assess the attribute. A controls row marked not checked says nothing about whether the operator offers controls. It tells you the boundary of this record.
Not applicable is reserved for an attribute that does not fit the record at all. It must not become a convenient alternative to research. We do not use it to hide an unanswered payment or eligibility question. Where no funded test has occurred, payout speed says not tested in plain language.
Missing evidence is not a negative score
We do not assign star ratings or use a missing field as a zero. Doing so would reward operators with longer marketing pages and penalise a service merely because its relevant help article was not part of the review. It would also suggest a level of comparability the evidence cannot support.
The console lets you filter for documented criteria. Those filters find records containing the reviewed kind of information. They are not filters for best, safest or fastest. Directory order is an editorial reading order. A three-way comparison is a way to inspect questions, not a podium.
Placement must not rewrite the facts
A future paid placement would need a clear advertising label in the placement itself. Its supporting facts would still need the same sources, dates and qualifications. A position on a page cannot manufacture a verified feature or change an unknown market status. Our launch directory has no paid placements and no account-opening routes.
Editorial reference links point to the cited documents so readers can inspect a claim. They are not a recommendation to register. Where an approved market-specific commercial route does not exist, we leave it absent. A visually prominent button should never fill a gap in evidence.
Corrections should be traceable
If a source no longer supports a statement, send the page URL and the specific correction through our contact page. Include a public primary reference where possible; never include account credentials or identification documents. We can then amend the fact, its date and the affected comparison.
A source date is the date of an actual check, not a timestamp refreshed on every build. Reading a guide later does not make its evidence new. That is why the dossier exposes both the reviewed scope and the check date, and why its remaining unknowns remain visible.
